August 8, 2016: Calving Sequence on Margerie Glacier, Torr Inlet, Glacier Bay National Park. The time span for all the photographs is 10 minutes. The glacier is 250 feet high. The splash rises about 80 feet above the water surface. Note the boat in the last photograph. The sound is certainly as dramatic as the visual display. We were about 3/4 of a mile from the action.
